Activities and research for quality in education

Through its several different but related activities, Reggio Children works on experimentation, promotion and dissemination of quality in education throughout the world. Research, as well as being an area of Reggio Children’s activities, is one of the foundational strategies of the Reggio Emilia Approach®, and every area of work is characterised by this same approach.

The Loris Malaguzzi International Centre, a space open to everyone

The Loris Malaguzzi International Centre is a place of encounter and exchange for those who would like to innovate education and culture – in Reggio Emilia, Italy and the world. It is a space open to all ages, to ideas and different cultures. A space which - starting with experience in the city’s municipal infant-toddler centres and preschools – generates research, experimentation and innovation on the contents and processes of education for 0-99 year olds. The Loris Malaguzzi International Centre is a living manifesto of the Reggio Emilia Approach®.

The Reggio Emilia Approach,
an educational project

The Reggio Emilia Approach® is an educational philosophy, founded on an image of the child with strong potentials for development, and a subject with rights. A child who learns through the hundred languages which belong innately to all human beings, and who grows through relations with others.

This educational project, which has become a reference point for people involved in education also after preschool age, is developed and renewed each day in Reggio Emilia's municipal Infant-toddler Centres and Preschools.
